Company Description (as filed with the SEC)

Since our founding in 1986, we have become the leading operator of discount variety stores offering merchandise at the fixed price of $1.00. We believe the variety and quality of products we sell for $1.00 sets us apart from our competitors. At February 2, 2008, we operated 3,411 discount variety retail stores. Approximately 3,300 of these stores sell substantially all items for $1.00 or less. The remaining stores, operating as Deal$, which were acquired in March 2006, sell most items for $1.00 or less but also sell items at prices greater than $1.00. Our stores operate under the names of Dollar Tree, Deal$ and Dollar Bills. On March 2, 2008, Dollar Tree, Inc. became the new parent holding company for Dollar Tree Stores, Inc., which is now an operating subsidiary. In the past five years, we have modified our average store size to reflect what we believe is our optimal store size of between 10,000 and 12,500 square feet.  ... More ...
